Sweating Therapy
Like massage therapy, traditional peoples all over the world used various techniques to induce sweating, which was universally seen as a way to marshal the body’s defense against all types of disease. From the Finnish sauna to the First Nations sweat lodge, from the Turkish hamam to the modern day infra-red sauna, every culture has developed an approach to stimulate sweating, and in many cases, plays a central role in traditional society.
