I am pleased to announce that I am now taking orders for my correspondence course "Inside Ayurveda: Clinical Education for the Western Practitioner". Developed and significantly expanded from my textbook "Ayurveda: The Divine Science of Life", this new course is designed to provide a solid foundation in Ayurvedic medicine. Food As Medicine
Confused about diet? Join us for this weekend intensive on Food As Medicine, based on the book Food As Medicine: The Theory and Practice of Food, by Todd Caldecott. Taught over two days, this workshop intensive is an in-depth review of food and nutrition, dietary practices, therapeutic diets, and medicinal herbs. Learn how to optimize your diet, get answers to your questions and expand your repetoire of healing foods and recipes. Learn how to eat strategically, according to the seasons and climate, as well as according to your age, gender and constitution. Food As Medicine provides the student with a simple, lucid and elegant model of nutrition.

Herbal Pharmacy
Herbal medicine is the oldest system of medicine on the planet, and over the last several thousand years herbalists have learned how to make potent herbal extracts with active medicinal qualities. This weekend workshop is a hands-on introduction to herbal pharmacy techniques, covering the preparation and application of a variety of preparations including infusions, decoctions, baths and fomentations, poultices, decoctions, powders and pills, tinctures, fortified wines, vinegar extracts, natural fermentations, glycerites, syrups, emulsions, medicated oils and salves, suppositories and toothpowders. Includes a 50 page manual on herbal pharmacy.

Phytomedica I
Phytomedica I is an integrated approach to the use of herbal medicine in clinical practice, drawing upon Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Physiomedicalism and clinical nutrition. This program is taught over two semesters, divided into fourteen, six hour modules, each module detailing a specific area of clinical work, including gastroenterology, immunology, anti-aging, cancer and musculoskeletal disorders. Each module will provide a system review as well as energetic approaches in traditional medicine, followed by a review of clinical approaches for specific health issues. Phytomedica is geared to the intermediate student, with a solid foundation in the health sciences. Includes over 600 pages of detailed course notes. Please note that Phytomedica II continues during the fall semester of 2013. Interested students can review the detailed syllabus online.
